Of snow, skyping, sleepovers, slipping, singing, and sissy savy fletch

Hey all :)

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. :) I LOVED seeing my family and talking with them about all the things we possibly could talk about. They're the best. I love them and miss them bunches :) I absolutely loved every single part of being a missionary during Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve with both of our ward mission leaders and their families. The Lows in Echo Canyon fed us fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and peppers. Ah. SO GOOD. And we opened our Christmas Eve presents with the Rand-Diaz's and sang Christmas songs together. The YSA sisters slept over at our apartment that night. We pulled out all the mattresses in front of the Christmas tree and shared our favorite mission memories. I couldn't fall asleep for the longest time #stillwaitingupforsanta. We opened our presents on Christmas morning. Thanks family :) Sure do love ya even though you gave me a jump rope ;) hahahahaha jokes.

We had breakfast with all the other sisters in our zone. I always love spending time with them. After that we headed to the Worthingtons in Echo Canyon TO SKYPE MY FAM!!!! Loved it loved it loved it. After skype we visited members for the rest of the the day :) so much fun.  Different from any other Christmas, but it was so good just to see families together talking about the Savior and enjoying one another's company. It SNOWED. Christmas miracle :) oh. And I also slipped and almost died. #streakgone

I did some writing this week. It's been a looooooooong time since I've done anything other than journaling. I was thinking about an experience I had earlier in my mission. It was starting to get cold and so I was digging through my suitcase to find my favorite sweater. Y'all know the one I'm talking about. The bike one. Haha I put the sweater on, a bit weirded out that it didn't feel the same as it used to. I hadn't worn it since before my mission. Lots of good memories associated with it. I walked into the bathroom to go brush my teeth...looked in the mirror...and just kind of stood there for a bit. I was wearing Savanna's sweatshirt, but the person in the mirror wasn't me. It was sort of a moment of realizing that God is molding me and making me into something more than I ever thought could happen. THUS. this poem :)

Brown, Grey, Green

I look and I see
Brown, Grey, Green
My ever changing eyes
Looking back at me

I look and I see
Brown, Grey, Green
But the person I'm looking at
...really isn't me.

I look and I see
Brown, Grey, Green
Blinking, looking, searching
But I still can't find me

I look and I see
Brown, Grey, Green
Ever darting back and forth
Will I ever see me?

I look and I see
Brown, Grey, Green
Never constant never sure
But maybe that's just me

He looks and he sees
Brown, Grey, Green
Ever changing is his child
But he always sees me

He looks and he sees
Brown, Grey, Green
Caring, working, striving
He sees the good in me

He looks and he sees
Brown, Grey, Green
From the beginning into eternity
He sees the potential in me

I look and I see
Brown, Grey, Green
Although I'm always changing
He is never lost to me

It's okay to change and grow. That's what I'm learning. Deep down I'm still me. :) And I'm learning that when we see ourselves through Gods eyes we are more able to accomplish his purposes. :) He will always be constant. He loves us SO much. Ah. So much :)

And I love y'all!
Love, Sissy Fletch
